Mild and gentle, this is the least 'aggressive' of the phyllitous clays making it a good choice for sensitive, dry or maturing skin as it does not overly "pull" the natural oils from your skin.
Used as a cosmetic clay mask, it will help stimulate circulation while gently exfoliating & cleansing your skin. To use this way, simply add a little distilled water to form a thin paste, apply to your skin (avoiding the eye and nostril areas), allow to set and rinse with warm water. It will leave your skin feeling extra soft and wonderfully clean! Or, try adding 1/2 cup of this clay to 1/2 cup buttermilk powder, mix well and add directly to warm, rushing tub water. You won't be disappointed! Your skin will feel clean and soft!
If you make CP soap, try added a little of this powder to your recipes, it will produce a brighter base color and impart good cleaning abilities as well.
Need one more idea? Try making your own homemade toothpaste! Simply mix a few tablespoons of clay, a little glycerin, distilled water, baking soda and even a pinch of sea salt until the right texture is achieved. Then add two drops of clove, cinnamon or any other essential oil and mix well. Working a bit of bentonite clay into this recipe, is also often recommended.
Please note that this clay is NOT super white. To achieve a super white clay, you have to use bleaching chemicals. Ours is still "white" but its a tan white, as we don't source highly refined clays.
INCI: Kaolin Clay
Please note that naturally occurring clays cannot be "certified organic" in the USA. The term "organic" is reserved for items that are grown in a field under organic supervision. Our Kaolin Clay is 100% pure, with no added fillers - but since it doesn't meet the FDA's requirement of being field grown, its not certifiable. If it were possible, we would have this item marked as organic. It can, however be sold as 100% natural.
