This clay occurs naturally in nature and is a favorite among soapers, because of its ability to add a nice "slip" to bar soap recipes. Bentonite clay also holds skin softening and exfoliating properties and it draws impurities from the body. Due to its ability to absorb large quantities of water, a little of this clay will go a long way.
If you are looking to make shaving soap, this item is a "must" as it is the product that will provide the slip you are looking for. Or, for regular soap making, or for adding to melt & pour, add 1 tablespoon per pound of soap to lend a creamy texture to the lather.
Please note that naturally occurring clays cannot be "certified organic" in the USA. The term "organic" is reserved for items that are grown in a field under organic supervision. Our Bentonite Clay is 100% pure, with no added fillers - but since it doesn't meet the FDA's requirement of being field grown, its not certifiable. If it were possible, we would have this item marked as organic. It can, however be sold as 100% natural.
