Rosemary Oil is probably one of the best herbs for the hair care industry. It's well known for its dandruff fighting power as well as its ability to soothe itchy dry scalps. If you have extra dry hair, and the sort of hair type that likes warm oil treatments, we recommend using this straight on your scalp!
Rosemary oil is probably best known for its hair care benefits. Formulators have been using this herb for many years for thinning/hair loss, dandruff fighting, and soothing itchy dry scalps. One popular method of hair hydration is the common "hot oil" treatment of warm oil being applied to the hair and scalp and then being shampooed out, leaving the hair silky smooth. Using this oil as a warm oil treatment, you would receive the benefits of the extra virgin olive oil for hydration, and the rosemary infusion. To use this way: simply warm enough oil for one application - making sure you don't get it too hot, oil heats very quickly. Pour onto your hands, and starting at the scalp gently massage to cover your scalp and work lightly through your hair. Wrap your head in a plastic bag, or with Saran wrap, then wrap a towel over the bag. Your body's natural heat should warm the oil, thus "activating" it. Allow to sit anywhere from 5 to 30 minutes, depending upon the level of moisture you want. Unwrap, and wash your hair as normal. Depending upon the amount of oil used, you may need to wash a few times to remove excessive oils. Treat your hair one time per week, or a few times per month. Another way to use this oil is to simply work it into your cosmetic formulations.
We use a cold process infusion, we never heat treat our oils. We infuse organic plant material into a first pressed, organic extra virgin olive oil. Because of the type of oil we infuse into, there is the typical (strong) scent that is associated with cold pressed olive oil - so please take that into consideration when ordering this product.
