Pecan Oil

New product

Within the family of nut based oils - pecan oil is considered a light oil in its molecular structure. With that said, it's still slightly heavier than almond oil, but not as heavy as macadamia nut oil. This means, that when you apply pecan oil to your skin, a percentage will sink in, and a percentage will stay on the surface layers of the skin.

Description

Within the family of nut oils -- pecan oil is considered a "light oil" in its molecular structure. With that said, it's still slightly "heavier" than almond oil, but not as heavy as macadamia nut oil. This means, that when you apply pecan oil to your skin, a percentage will sink in, and a percentage will stay on the surface layers of the skin. This quality makes it an excellent blending oil depending upon what formulation you are creating.

For instance, if you are creating a massage oil or a body scrub - I would recommend using this oil in combination with a lighter oil (maybe grape seed or apricot oil), and a heavier oil (maybe macadamia nut or extra virgin olive oil). This way you get the benefits of both the more easily absorbed oils and the oil that tends to sit on the surface, thus creating a barrier between your skin and the environment. Its those types  of oil that give a wonderful slip to massage blends - and pecan oil would help give a terrific massage!
