Azadirachta indica. In India, the leaves from the neem tree are prized for their healing benefits. They are used in dental hygiene, and due to its antibacterial and antiviral properties, the leaves are incorporated into many skin care recipes for such issues as such as acne, eczema, ringworm, and skin infections.

Try using these leaves to color cold process soap a light green! To use this way, simply infuse 2 teaspoons of leaves into 1/4 cup oil and steep. When the color has bled out, strain off the herb and add the colored oil back to your soap pot. For a stronger color, add more neem leaves or grind them in a blender and use the powder.

I use this neem in my shampoo bars ... its excellent for dry scalp!
