Iris germanica. From the Iris family, comes this wonderful powdered root that is often used in potpourri and cosmetic blends as a scent fixative and stabilizer. It has also been known to be incorporated into homemade tooth paste recipes, and can be added to your laundry cycle for a fresh clean scent - since it holds a similar scent to violets. For cosmetic purposes, orris root does hold several natural anti-inflammatory flavonoids which will be passed into your topical use.

For potpourri use, we recommend using 1/2 Tablespoon per 6-10 drops of essential oil. Add the EO over the orris root powder, blend well then pour this over the top of your dried flowers and blend well. The orris will "hold" the scent of your EO and slow down the scent-evaporation rate.
