Walnut hulls make a great two-part additive for soap. Not only will they color your soap a lovely nut-brown, but are also good for treating eczema.

This powder contains vitamin C, zinc and juglone, a naturally occurring chemical that is antibacterial, antiviral, antiparasitic, and a fungicide. Because of this substance, herbalists often use black walnut hulls to treat various skin issues such as ringworm, minor skin infections, and eczema. It can also be used in facial soaps for those who suffer from acne.

To use as a soap colorant, add 1/4 cup powdered hulls to CP soap at trace and work in well. For melt & pour soap, blend will a small amount of heated glycerin to release the coloring, strain and add to the melted base, drop by drop until your color is achieved.
