For external use, simply infuse these leaves into water like you would for a drinkable tea. Steep for 10 minutes, then strain. Use the retained witch hazel water in your healing salve or lotion recipes. Because of the anti-inflammatory properties that witch hazel holds, the strained water makes excellent dental treatments as well.

For internal use, it is said that this herb will assist children and adults with issues related to diarrhea. It is recommended not to exceed a three day dosage for children, taking this as an internal tea. Please research well the dosage amounts before taking internally based on age and weight of the patient.
