Wonderfully medicinal by nature, this wildcrafted witch hazel leaf can be used externally in sitz baths to relieve the pain and inflammation of hemorrhoids, as well as a vast assortment of external skin issues.

For external use, simply infuse the bark into water. Steep for 10 minutes, then strain. Use the retained witch hazel water in your healing salve or lotion recipes. The benefits of witch hazel bark can also be extracted using alcohol and its a much better extraction method, when working with the bark (over the leaves). To extract this way, simply add the bark into a jar, cover with alcohol and allow it to sit for a few days. Strain off the bark, and you have witch hazel infused alcohol.
