Citric acid is an organic product found in almost all plants. Widely used in the cosmetic industry for producing such items as fizzy bath bombs, skin fresheners, under eye lotions, hair rinses, and hand lotions. This product is astringent and can be used alone or in healing salves. It is also said to have antioxidant & toning properties and can also be used as a preservative.

Pssst! Try your hand at making bath bombs! Kids love them (and so do grown-ups!)....

• 1/4 Cup Baking Soda
• 2 Tbsp. Citric Acid
• 1Tbsp. Borax
• 2 Tbsp. Dextrose Powder
• 2 Tbsp. Sweet Almond Oil (or whatever type of good quality oil of your choice)
• 1/4 Tsp. Essential Oil of your choice

Combine dry ingredients together in a bowl and stir until well blended. Drizzle in the almond oil and stir until mixture is thoroughly moistened. Add esential oil & stir until well mixed.

Take teaspoon size lumps of the mixture and form into balls with your fingers. The mixture will be very crumbly and fragile, and will take some delicate handling. Place the balls onto a sheet of wax paper and leave for 2-3 hours. Reshape the balls and allow to air dry and harden for about 3 days. To use simply drop into the warm bath water. They will make your skin HIGHLY nourished feeling. Store in a closed container to protect from moisture. For an extra-rich, bath experience add a 1/4 cup french green clay to the dry ingredients and bump up the oil slightly. The green clay will not only soften your skin but provide a pretty, natural colorant and draw impurities from your body!
